Dec. 31, 2012 — A little over four short months after opening the new Justice IGA in Grayson, store owners announced Monday that they will soon be closing.
Store owner Johnny Justice told the Journal-Times that overhead cost was a contributing factor to their decision to close.
“The electric bill is $500 every day,” Justice said. “Wages are $50-60,000 a month. The big box stores, like Wal-Mart and the Dollar stores, are really hurting small businesses.”
Justice said they had been considering closing the store for a couple of weeks. For now, IGA is open during their regular hours and will offer 25-percent off groceries until everything is sold.
Justice said he will not leave the building empty for long, and hopes to have a new business in the location as soon as possible.
