April 13, 2012 — The Kentucky State Police in Ashland are looking for an East Carter High School student who has run away.
Nathan Cummings, of Grayson, has not been seen since April 7, and KSP is treating this as a juvenile runaway case. No other information is being released at this time.
Anyone with information on Cummings’ whereabouts should contact the KSP post in Ashland at (606) 928-6421.
In something of a surprise, Grayson voters decided Tuesday by a count of 511-393 to resume the legal sale of alcoholic beverages for the first time since all of Carter County voted itself “dry” in 1937.
Regional jail once again on hold
Carter Fiscal Court met Friday in special session for the second reading of an ordinance to address overcrowding at the Carter County Detention Center.
The Journal-Times has learned that Olive Hill City Council member Tony Williams has submitted a letter of resignation.
Kentucky State Police in Ashland have ruled the death of Nathan Barker, 20, of Olive Hill, an accident.
In a press release Thursday, KSP Trooper Michael Murriell said that Barker's death was the result of a fall from a cliff.
