ECHS Lady Raiders win

Take opening-round of 62nd District Tourney

Feb. 28, 2007 — The boys and girls teams from East Carter scored a sweep over Morgan County in Tuesday night’s opening-round of this week’s 62nd District Tournament. With the wins, both clubs from Grayson advance to the tournament’s championship games.

Hager Easterling saw his Lady Raiders jump to a big lead then hold on for the 50-37 decision. East is in a familiar situation now, taking on longtime rival and top-seeded West Carter in Thursday’s girls’ title game.

Make sure to check out next week’s Journal-Times sports section for the 62nd District Tournament recap. And check the website daily for updates, scores, photos & the 16th Region Tournament brackets (as soon as they are available).
