Raiders slam Morgan, 72-27

The Raiders moved to 19-4 on the season last Tuesday with a 72-27 win over Morgan County.

East’s guys grabbed a huge lead to open the game and held the Cougars to just six points in the first half. With such a huge lead, Morgan was unable to come close to the Raiders.

East was scheduled to travel to Rowan County on Friday, but cancelled due to the weather. The game was rescheduled for Monday, Feb. 15.

The Raiders traveled to Raceland Tuesday (after press time). The Rams were 6-14 on the season before Tuesday’s match-up, coming off three losses in a row.

East hits the road again on Friday for a face off at Fairview. The Eagles are 18-4 on their season and ranked number one in the 16th Region.

The Raiders will play host to Highlands, 11-7, on Saturday. East will honor six seniors before the game. Koty Buck, Colt Barnhill, Caleb Adams, Kyle Bair, Dylan McDavid, and Tanner Ashworth are slated to graduate in May.

East will travel to Rowan County on Monday night. The Vikings are 8-10 on their season, and are slated to face three more opponents before Monday’s match-up.

The road game at Rowan marks the next-to-last game of regular season play for the Raiders.
