In Monday’s pre-season tennis match against Boyd County the East Carter Middle School boys won 5–2 and the girls won 3-1.
In girls’ singles action, Morgan Hayes defeated Brittany Price 8-0 and Dana Biechele-Speziale took down Annie Smallwood 6–0.
In boys’ singles action, Jonathan Seagraves defeated Tyler Boggs 8–0 and Todd Nischan beat Hunter Boggs 6–0. Tanner Sammons defeated Matt Burdette 6–0 and Zack Albright took down Chan Lawson 6-0.
Shae Criswell and Morgan Hayes defeated Lauren Phelps and B. Price 7–6 (7 – 3) in girls’ doubles competition.
John Biechele-Speziale and Tanner Sammons defeated T. Boggs and C. Lawson 6-1 in boys’ doubles action.
