East girls win their first game in Bluegrass


East Carter wins its first game over East Ridge in the 13th annual Queen of the Bluegrass Tournament.

The East Carter Raiders snatched a 67-34 win in the second game of tournament play on their home court Tuesday night with Jess Marshall being the lead scorer in the game.

Those scoring for the Raiders included: Lakota Burge, Kristin Easterling, Jess Marshall, Courtney Sparks, Jade Stumob, Jordan Parsons, Wilson, Ashley Sargent

and Lexie Cline.

The tournament continued Tuesday with the Raiders playing Elliott County.

Games will continue up until tonight (Wednesday) when the champions will be announced.

Teams participating in the tournament include: East Carter Lady Raiders, Elliott County Lady Lions, George Rogers Clark Lady Cards, Shelby Valley Lady Wildcats, Campbell County Lady Camels, Ashland Blazer Kittens, Breathitt County Lady Bobcats and East Ridge.

Tonight’s games will begin at 6:15 p.m.
