Conn signs with KCU

Feb. 6, 2013 — Taylor Conn, a member of the Rowan County Senior High School Vikings volleyball team, coached by Steve Walters, on Thursday, Jan. 31, made it official.

Conn has committed to become part of the volleyball program at Kentucky Christian University in Grayson.

After graduation from RCSHS, Taylor, the daughter of Mike and Lisa Conn, will be attending KCU and will join the volleyball program led by head coach Bruce Dixon.

Before signing her commitment letter with KCU, Coach Walters expressed his pride.

“I am excited for Taylor, taking this next step,” Walters said. “I am sure that whatever she will do in the future, she will be successful. This is also an exciting moment for our volleyball program here at Rowan County.”

“We are so happy to have Taylor join our program at KCU,” said Dixon.

“I’ve always said that, if you care to dream big, your dreams can come true. If you want to put the work in and if you work hard enough, then that dream is yours, it’s in your hands.”

Conn's parents thanked the high school coaching staff, saying, “These coaches are about as fair as you can get. In the two years that Taylor has been part of this school’s volleyball program, they’ve done so much to help her improve her skills. We’re just thankful that she now has the opportunity to attend KCU and we’ll be able to continue watching her play volleyball.”
