KCU's Dailey receives another honor

April 11, 2012 —     Another successful season of Knights football led to one of its best honored for his tremendous play.

KCU senior wide receiver, Beau Dailey, was recently named a member of the All-Commonwealth Team for the 2011 football season.  Dailey was a staple in the Knights offense, as he became the go to receiver for quarterback Graham Johnston.

Since his first year with the program, Beau was the team's go to man, with 859 receiving yards (78.1 yards per game). He was ranked seventh in the Mid-South region for total receptions on the season, and sixth for receptions per game. He also was ranked third in the Mid-South in both total receiving yards and receiving yards per game.

This is the second year Dailey has had the honor of nabbing a spot on the All-Commonwealth Team, which was created, "to give recognition to youth at a local level and empower them to develop expectations of greatness."

In only its second year of existence, the All-Commonwealth Team was created last year by the Kentucky Pro Football Hall of Fame to recognize some of the best college football players the state of Kentucky has to offer.

According to a release by the organization, "these athletes represent the best college football players that the state of Kentucky has to offer, while their dedication to the game has contributed significantly to their teams."

Preparing for the 2012 season, the 20122013 KCU football team hopes to continue the success it's program has continued to build since its birth just four years ago.

The presence and legacy Dailey leaves behind could prove hard to replace in the slot, but there is no doubt his understudies have learned plenty from the success Dailey has left behind.

A full list of the players recognized can be viewed on the organization's website at www.kyprofootballhof.com/2012-inductees-honorees.
