August 13, 2008 — Editor,
To our good neighbors on Stan Branch. We moved here a few years ago to retire after selling our farm that we had lived on for twenty-seven years. We left our dog there with the grandchildren so he would not be a nucience to our neighbors.
We do have good neighbors here. I do not hear fighting or gossiping. As for my husband is seventy-seven years old and I am sixty-eight. All we ask is a little rest in our senior years.
My problem is with barking dogs. Seems like nearly everyone here has one, either tied or pinned up. As soon as we try to lie down to rest or even sit on our porch, either in the morning or late evening, the dogs start barking and don’t stop all night.
I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings and I don’t know what they should do but I’m begging them to please try and do something to quiet their barking dogs.

Editor,
ECHS Lady Raider Volleyball would like to thank all the wonderful people in our community that have helped make it possible for us to purchase new uniforms for our team this year! Many individuals have purchased lunches, had cars washed, attended our spaghetti dinner and purchased raffle tickets. Many thanks to each and every one of you!
We would like to thank all of our business sponsors for the season; Gold Sponsorship: Century 21 Brooks Wells Enterprise, Principal Broker Joyce Seagraves Tussey, Silver Sponsorship: Commercial Bank, Custom Pools and Spas, Malone Funeral Home, First National Bank, Tang, A Better You, Hometown Carpet, American Health Centers, Horton Bro. & Browns and Rose Drywall. Other sponsors are: Browns Mobile Homes, Willard Milling and Bakers Septic Service.
Without the support of our community our new uniforms wouldn't have been possible.
Watch for our season schedule in the sports section, we would love to invite everyone out for an evening of fun to one or all of our volleyball games.
Looking forward to a GREAT season,
ECHS Volleyball Team, Coaches and Parents

Questions about Hitchins school
I am a member of the Hitchins Preservation Society and have worked various events to raise money to renovate the Hitchins High School buildings. I was shocked to read that Mr. Isaacs had given the school to the Christian school group. It had been my understanding that he had given it to the HPS several years ago.
