March 10, 2010 — Thanks to road departments
Between frigid temperatures and snowstorms, the winter of 2010 will be one we will not quickly forget. Snow and ice, compounded with the freezing temperatures day-after-day, have caused hazardous roads in most communities, including Bracken, Carter, Greenup, Lewis, Mason and Robertson counties. However, the road departments performed remarkably, working around the clock to keep the roads as clear as possible.
We cannot thank them enough for doing such an excellent job of salting, scrapping, and just generally attempting to keep the roads and highways free of ice and snow. Crews worked many long hours to ensure that our roads were as safe as possible.
Despite our gratitude, most of us take for granted the job they do. However, we would not have been able to travel the highways nearly as easily had the salt trucks not run at all hours of the day and night and the workers not been diligent in keeping the roads and highways scrapped.
I do not share my appreciation often enough with the road crews, so I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for their hard work. I encourage other citizens also to thank the road and highway workers for making our lives easier and for doing an outstanding job. Without them, residents would have felt more repercussions from the inclement weather conditions we have experienced this year.
Sincerely,
State Senator Robin Webb
Thanks for angels
Hebrews 1:14 Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?
Angels are sent to serve those who will....God knows all who will, so even if they aren't serving God now, God has already assigned Angels to go minister to those WHO WILL INHERIT SALVATION. I walked for many years not serving God, but alas....God knew that I would be serving him one day, so guess what, even then I believe God had his Angels ministering to me. Remember he knew each of us from our mother's womb.
Wow Wow....so this lets me know that God has assigned Angels to protect my children, whom I have pleaded the blood of Jesus over; my friends...those who I have come in contact with that I spoke God's word to...cause the word says that God's Word will not return void, but will go forth and perform that which God called it to.
Thank you Lord, for your word of truth. Thank you that you want my children protected even more then I do. Thank you Lord that you sent your word and you will perform it....you will cause it to be according to your will for their lives, and you LOVE them more then I do. Thank you Lord, for your power, your precious blood that was shed for all to receive redemption. The price of their sins has already been paid for...their deliverance already set in motion. Help me Lord to see through your eyes. AMEN
Psalms 103: 20 - Praise the LORD, you his angels, you mighty ones who do his bidding, who obey his word.
21- Praise the LORD, all his heavenly hosts, you his servants who do his will.
I heard a minister say the other day that angels are our unseen allies...Just take a look another look at the verse above...According to verse 20, God's angels do God's bidding according to God's Word...The angels, according to verse 21, carry out God's will....This tells me that when I am in God's Word, and speaking according to God's Word, that I am actually dispatching angels to go forth and do God's will in the life of my husband, children and grandchildren, family members and myself. Now, angels are not to be worshipped. They are to worship God as we are to worship God.
Luke 39: Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and his disciples followed him. 40 - On reaching the place, he said to them, "Pray that you will not fall into temptation." 41 - He withdrew about a stone's throw beyond them, knelt down and prayed, 42 - "Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done." 43 - An angel from heaven appeared to him and strengthened him. 44-And being in anguish, he prayed more earnestly, and his sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.
Now, if Jesus needed angels to strengthen and minister to Him, how much more do we need angels to strengthen and minister to us? So, apparently God sends angels to strengthen us!
Hebrews 1:14 Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?
According to the above scripture, angels are assigned to minister to us who have accepted Christ as our own...Angels are sent to serve us.
Serve: verb (used with object) - to be in the service of; work for, to be useful or of service to; help, to go through (a term of service), to render active service to, to render obedience or homage to (God, a sovereign, etc.), to perform the duties of (a position, an office, etc.), to answer the requirements of, to contribute to; promote...
Now, the above passage states that angels are ministering angels, so, what does ministering mean?
Minister: noun - a person authorized to conduct religious worship; member of the clergy; pastor, a person appointed by or under the authority of a sovereign or head of a government to some high office of state, esp. to that of head of an administrative department, a diplomatic representative accredited by one government to another and ranking next below an ambassador, a person acting as the agent or instrument of another...
–verb - to perform the functions of a religious minister, to give service, care, or aid; attend, as to wants or necessities; to minister to the needs of the hungry, to contribute, as to comfort or happiness...
So God's angels are sent to serve and minister to myself, my husband, my children, my grandchildren, and my family and friends who are serving Him! So, let's start speaking God's Word over our families and dispatching our unseen allies to go forth on our behalf!
Father,
I love You, I love You!!! Thank you for your reinforcements when I need reinforced! Thank you for Your ministering spirits that you send to me, my family, and friends to serve and minister to us...to strengthen us. Father, thank you for directing the feet of my children...Thank You that my children are raising my grandchildren according to the obedience of Your Word! Thank You Father! I am humbled by Your mercy and love...What a Saviour! What a Saviour!
In Jesus Name, I give all praise to you today. My Jesus Lives. My Saviour Lives and Will Reign Forever!

Visit older ones to make a difference
May is Older American's Month, and this years theme is “Never Too Old To Play.” This theme encourages older Americans to stay active-physically, socially and mentally. Research shows that playing simple games, including electronics, can have a positive impact on older adults, and help prevent physical and cognitive decline.
