Dec. 30, 2009 — Lineman License Plate

Editor,

Grayson R.E.C.C. would like to thank the 900 residents of Ky. That made the Lineman License Plate a reality. Pre-paid license plates will be ready Feb.1, 2010 at your local clerk’s office. Because of your generosity, Grayson R.E.C.C. was able to present the three lineman schools in Ky. (Ashland, Somerset & Florence) a check for $1,500.

The lineman program in Ky. will continue to receive these funds as other license plates are sold and when an existing plate is renewed yearly. If you did not order a tag, extras will be available at the clerk’s office in your county throughout Ky. Please contact Julie Lewis at 606-475-2191 if you would be interested in signing up for a tag for your motorcycle.

Two-Thousand-Ten

We are winding up a decade

And what a decade it has been

Think of everything that's happened

Soon we'll reach two-thousand-ten.

At the turning of two-thousand

Thought to be our final day

Some folks thought the world was ending

All because of Y-2-K

The events on nine-eleven

Touched the hearts of everyone,

Soon the soldiers were made ready

And a new war had begun.

Now two wars continue raging

And Recession's plagued the land

In the midst of all the turmoil

A new leader took command.

Unemployment's at it's highest

With more jobs lost everyday,

Our country's largest debt in history

Our great-great grandkids can't pay.

When that ball drops down at midnight

And all eyes are on time square

Instead of making resolutions

Maybe we should say a prayer.

  • Questions about Hitchins school

I am a member of the Hitchins Preservation Society and have worked various events to raise money to renovate the Hitchins High School buildings. I was shocked to read that Mr. Isaacs had given the school to the Christian school group. It had been my understanding that he had given it to the HPS several years ago.
