July 1, 2009 — Rudy Burchett said this year’s Rudy Fest was the best one ever.
Despite four inches of rain that fell during thunderstorms the first night, (Thursday, June 25) and a short time of power outage, over 3,000 people enjoyed the Bluegrass Music at the Carter County Fairgrounds in Grayson.
Burchett said well over 200 campers parked on the grounds. The festival attendees included a family from Germany and visitors from many states including Louisiana, Florida, Michigan, Maryland, Missouri, N.C., S.C., Georgia, Tennessee, Alabama, Illinois and Indiana, as well as all across the Commonwealth.
Performing at this year's Rudy Fest was Ernie Thacker, Dan Tyminski Band, Russell Moore & IIIrd Tyme Out, Lonesome River Band, The Grascals, Larry Cordle, Marty Raybon and more.
