Two-car crash


July 2, 2009 — A two-car crash around 10 a.m. Thursday morning, July 2, on Carol Malone Blvd. in Grayson sent two people to the hospital via ambulance.

Grayson Emergency Management Assistant Director Joann Dunfee said Larry Rowlett of 303 Little Sandy Lane, Grayson went across the lane in his Mercury Sable and struck a GMC Jimmy, driven by Ralph Matthew Smith of Olive Hill.

Grayson firefighters used the jaws-of-life to get Rowlett out of his car. He reportedly was conscious and immediately taken to the hospital by a Carter County ambulance.

The GMC have five occupants. Four refused medical treatment, while Nellie Smith, 63, was taken by ambulance to the hospital with head injury.

GPD Office Casey Brammell is investigating the accident.
