Sept. 9, 2009 — A 33-year-old Grayson man died Sept. 1 in a one-vehicle accident when the van he was driving left the roadway and struck two separate guardrails along U.S. 60.
Lloyd A. Salyers of 3549 Fultz Rd. was traveling west in a 1991 van when the vehicle left the right side of the road and swerved onto an embankment, Kentucky State Police reported.
The van continued in the westbound direction and then hit the guardrails just before going over another embankment. Police said Salyers was not wearing a safety belt and was ejected from the vehicle. Speed and alcohol may have contributed to the accident, police reported.
The incident remains under investigation by Trooper Brittany McMaine.
Other agencies involved in the investigation include the Carter County EMS, Grayson Fire Department and Carter County Coroner George Sparks.
