Nov. 7, 2012 —
A man driving a tractor trailer hauling medical imaging equipment along I-64 passed out behind the wheel and wrecked his rig on Friday, according to the Kentucky State Police.
Paul Maloney was traveling westbound when he passed out while driving. The vehicle slid against a guard rail, veered off the shoulder and flipped on its side. Maloney suffered minor injuries and was transported from the scene by Carter County EMS to King’s Daughters Medical Center as a precautionary measure.
The imaging equipment was determined to be non-hazardous.
KSP was assisted by Grayson Police, Carter County Sheriff’s Office, Grayson Fire Department, Olive Hill Fire Department, Carter County Emergency Management, Boyd County Emergency Management and the Kentucky Environmental Response Team.
The accident remains under investigation.
