Man in jail after being charged with copper theft

Jan. 20, 2010 — A 25-year-old man was taken into custody Jan. 13 after Grayson Police was notified of copper wiring taken from a vehicle belonging to 5th Street Electric and Supply.

Corey J. Wicker is in the Carter County Detention without bond on a parole violation and charges of receiving stolen property over $500.

During the investigation, officers located Wicker pushing a shopping cart loaded with several rolls of stolen wire. Police was then able to make the arrest and charge Wicker with the crime. The theft is still pending further investigation.
