Jan. 30, 2013 — Two people were injured in an accident on KY 7 Monday morning.
The Kentucky State Police in Ashland said the collision occurred on KY 7 at the one mile marker in Carter County.
According the KSP, Joel Dearmon, 33, of Ashland, was operating a 2004 Chevrolet Van travelling southbound. When he lost control of the vehicle and traveled into the northbound lane.
Dearmon struck Alfred Brown,73, of Sandy Hook, who was operating a 2009 Town and Country and travelling northbound.
Brown and his passenger, Vivian Brown, 68, were transported by Carter EMS to St. Mary’s for non-life threatening injuries.
Dearmon refused any medical treatment at the scene.
Seatbelts were in use by all occupants of each vehicle. At this time alcohol is not suspected as a contributing factor.
Carter County EMS and Grayson Fire Department assisted at the scene.
The collision is being investigated by Trooper Tye Chavies.
