Harold Parker
1949-2008
OLIVE HILL - Harold Parker, age 58, of State Highway 1662 in Olive Hill, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 23, at the Hospice Care Center in Ashland.
He was born December 31, 1949, in Lewis County, a son of the late McKinley and Nancy Lou Dean Parker.
Harold was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and a friend to all who knew him. He was a Christian, retired school bus driver and a life long farmer.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandchild, Micah Roberts.
He is survived by his wife, Loretta "Susie" Rayburn Parker; two sons and daughter-in-law, Stacy and Tammy Parker and Nathan Tyler Parker; two daughters and son-in-law, Sherry and Dexter Bradley and Amy Roberts all of Olive Hill; two grandchildren, Corey Bradley and Desiree Brown; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Edward and Patty Parker, Michael and June Parker, Danny and Ruthie Parker, Ronnie and Brenda Parker all of Olive Hill; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Bonnie and Sable Richmond of Marion, Indiana, Bernice and Eugene Rayburn of Emerson, Loretta and Keith McGlone, Eileen and Donald Buckler all of Olive Hill. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, other family members, neighbors and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 27, at the Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Gary Dean and Brother Scott Gilliam officiating. Burial followed in the Parker Family Cemetery Trough Camp, Olive Hill.
Corey Bradley, Dexter Bradley, Mike Logan, Johnny Jordan, Brian Rayburn and Tommy Kiser served as pallbearers.
Howard Milton Jessee
1931-2008
MOREHEAD – Howard Milton Jessee, age 77, of Bruce Road, Soldier, passed away Thursday, December 25, at his residence.
He was born July 13, 1931, in Carter County, to the late Charles Haden and Gladys Dorothy Bradley Jessee. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Lee Jessee, on August 17, 2002, and one brother, Harold Jessee.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Marie Webb Jessee; two sons, Bruce Allen Jessee and Wayne Jessee, both of Soldier; two daughters, Carol Ann Shelton and Kimberly Sue Jessee, both of Morehead; one brother, Ernest Jessee of Englewood, Ohio; one sister, Yvonne Crockett French of New Castle, Indiana; and seven grandchildren.
Howard was a self-employed auto-body mechanic and a member of the Church of God.
Funeral services were conducted 3:30 p.m. Sunday, December 28, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ray Glover, and Rev. Gayle Price officiating. Burial followed in the Bradley Cemetery in Carter County.
Pallbearers were Lukas Jessie, Mitchell Jessie, Gary Jessie, Roy Lands, Matthew Lands, and Steve Johnson.
Millard R. Stewart
1919-2008
GRAYSON - Millard R. Stewart, 89 of Grayson, died Wednesday December 24, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in Bellefonte.
He was born March 31, 1919 in Ashland, a son of the late Fred and Lavinia (Click) Stewart. He was a retired welder with Vecellio & Grogan in Beckley WV, a member of the U.M.W.A, and a member of the Gregoryville Christian Holiness Church where he served as a deacon for 25 years; he also was a former member of the Coon Hunter’s Association.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mildred Juanita Berry Stewart; and one sister, Annabee Osborne.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Grubb Stewart; three sons, Larry R. (Diane) Stewart of Port St. Lucie, FL, Forest Douglas (Shirley) Stewart of Ashland, and Michael D. (Deanna) Stewart of Burnsville, WV; two daughters, Sandra K. (Michael) Wood of Shady Spring, WV, and Lynne A. Godby and Special Friend Fred Clemens of Shady Spring, WV; one brother, Amos Stewart of Ashland; eight grandchildren, Kimberly, Cheryl, Larry, Joseph, Dawn, Aprile, Dustin, and Brittany; 12 Great Grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter.
Services were conducted 1 p.m. Sunday, December 28, at Gregoryville Christian Holiness Church by Bro. Lewis Davis. Burial followed at the Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland. Pallbearers were Larry Stewart Jr., Joseph Stalka, Dustin Godby, Brock Davis, Paul-Michael Kizer, and Cameron Conley.
Sarah Inez Bradley Caudill
1941-2008
OLIVE HILL – Sarah Inez Bradley Caudill, age 67, of State Highway 1626, in Olive Hill, passed away Wednesday evening, December 24, at her residence.
She was born April 24, 1941 in Carter County, a daughter of the late Henry Greene and Allie Fair Lore Bradley.
Sarah was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a Christian and a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two children, Gary Raymond “Tom Dooley” Bradley and Stephanie Caudill; one brother, Donnie Ray Bradley; two sisters, Maxine Conn and Bernice Stevens; daughter-in-law, Marjeana Bradley; brother-in-law, Luther Conn; sister-in-law, Debbie Bradley.
She is survived by her husband of forty-six years, Johnny Caudill; five sons, Darrell “Iggy” Caudill and special friend, Sheryl Weikle, Darren “George” and Barb Caudill and Gaston “Chewy” and Glenna Caudill all of Olive Hill, Henry “Drew” Caudill and Elwood “Dumpy” Caudill both of Mansfield, Ohio; two daughters, Juanita “Nita” and Dennis Moore of Shelby, Ohio and Bonita “Min” and Mike Owens of Mansfield, Ohio; adopted daughter and son, Debbie “Pooh” and Danny Waddell of Olive Hill; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Harlan and Betty Bradley of Mansfield, Ohio, Herman and Betty Bradley, Harmon “Pop” and Barb Bradley, Lester “Leck” Bradley all of Olive Hill; one sister, Lorrie “Sheep” Bradley of Olive Hill; brother-in-law, Bill Stevens of Mansfield, Ohio; a special nephew, Dexter Bradley of Olive Hill; she also leaves several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Sunday, December 28, at the Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Austin Carter and Brother Delmar Logan, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the Bradley Cemetery on Dry Branch Road in Olive Hill.
Darrell Caudill, Henry Caudill, Darren Caudill, Gaston Caudill, Elwood Caudill, Bradley Caudill, Dustin Moore, Gary Owens and Chad Jaynes served as pallbearers.
Naomi Stone Liles
1913-2008
VANCEBURG - Naomi Stone Liles, age 95, of Laurel Road, Vanceburg, passed away Tuesday afternoon, December 27, at the Golden Living Center, in Vanceburg.
She was born December 25, 1913, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late James Edward and Laura Lee Bloomfield Stone.
Naomi was a homemaker, a Christian and was a member of the Laurel Point Christian Holiness Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two, Russell Liles; four brothers, Tinsley Stone, Earl Stone, Glen Stone and Ernest Stone.
She is survived by two brothers and three sisters-in-law, Delmas and Ruth Stone, Curtis and Louise Stone, and Merle Gilliam Stone all of Vanceburg. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, at the Globe Funeral Chapel in Camp Dix, with Brother Clyde Holbrook and Brother Forest Hedges officiating. Burial followed in the Stone Cemetery on Scotts Branch Road in Lewis County.
Jessie Kiser French
1918-2008
LEXINGTON – Jessie Kiser French, age 90, of Lexington, formerly of Olive Hill, passed away Saturday morning, December 13, at the Johnson-Mathers Health Care Center in Carlisle.
She was born April 15, 1918, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Wesley and Audrey Frazier Kiser.
Jessie was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister. She was a homemaker and attended the Olive Hill Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Christian Witnesses in Olive Hill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy D. French, November 17, 1988; and a grandson, John D. Burchett.
She is survived by two daughters, Violet Burchett of Lexington, and Rosalee Kilgore of Lebanon, Ohio; three grandchildren, Scott and Sandy Burchett of Sharpsburg, Paul and Carrie Burchett of Greenup, John and Abby Cash of Lexington; four great-grandsons, Phillip Burchett of Big Stone Gap, Virginia, Caleb Burchett of Hazard, Blake Burchett and Brady Burchett both of Greenup; she also leaves several other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 27, at the Olive Hill Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Christian Witnesses in Olive Hill, with Brother Marcus Giese officiating. Burial will follow at a later date.
Globe Funeral Chapel of Olive Hill is in charge of all the arrangements.
Hazel K. Kiser McGlone
1917-2008
OLIVE HILL – Hazel K. Kiser McGlone, 91, of Olive Hill, passed away Monday, December 22, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
She was born June 7, 1917 in Carter County, the daughter of the late Carter an Ollie Hern Kiser.
Hazel was a homemaker, a member of the Carter County Homemakers, and attended the Olive Hill Nazarene Church.
In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by her husband, Luther McGlone; two brothers, Tammie Kiser and Hager Kiser; and one sister, Dorothy Kiser Kegley.
She is survived by two sons, Phillip L. McGlone of Cynthiana, and James D. McGlone of Olive Hill; one brother, Bradley “Joe” Kiser of Carter City; two sisters, Lois Frazier of Anderson, IN, and Doris Frazier of Olive Hill; and one grandchild.
Funeral services were held Saturday, December 27, at 1 p.m. at the Olive Hill Nazarene Church. Officiating the service was James Muncy. Burial followed in Gold Kiser Cemetery.
Khloe Breanna Burnett
2008-2008
GRAYSON - Khloe Breanna Burnett, infant daughter of P.R. and Kathy May Burnett of Grayson, passed away Monday, December 22, at Kings Daughters Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Karter Burnett in 2005.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, Kaitlynn Burnett and Kamey Burnett both at home; one brother, Kohl Burnett at home; maternal grandparents, Hershell and Diana May of Grayson; paternal grandparents, Russell and Fern Burnett of Grayson; maternal great-grandmother, Belva May of Webbville, and paternal great-grandmother, Ruby Burnett of Grayson.
Graveside services were conducted Friday, December 26, at 1 p.m. at the Burnett Family Cemetery with Russell Burnett, officiating.

Thomas A. Clark
1936-2008
OLDTOWN – Thomas A. Clark, known to many as Tuck, 72, of Laurel Road, Oldtown, departed this life at his home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday, December 28.
Mr. Clark was born February 9, 1936 in Grayson, a son of the late Albert and Kathleen Waggoner Clark.
He was a retired truck driver, member of the Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church in Oldtown where he was embraced by a loving and devoted church family.
He was a devoted husband, and shared 51 years of marriage with his wife, Lois Mae Brown Clark, who preceded him in death on July 27.
He was also preceded in death by a son-in-law, Ronnie Virgin; and one grandson, Matthew Latimer.
He is survived by three daughters, Debby (Randy) Felty of Grayson, Teresa Virgin and Tammy (Mike) Steele, both of Oldtown; four sisters, Dorothy Sallie of Flatwoods, Loretta LeMaster of Grayson, Mary Effie Rankin of Lexington, and Roberta Stephens of Grayson; six grandchildren, Miranda Felty, Cameron Felty, Thomas “T.J.” Felty, Sasha (Erik) Wilder, Sarah Steele, and Kendra Steele; two great-grandchildren, Ethan Latimer and Devin Latimer.
He was a loving and caring Dad and Grandfather who enjoyed his family and devoted his life to them.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 31, at Reed Funeral Home in Greenup, by Pastor John Lybrook. Burial will be in the Virgin-Latimer Cemetery in Oldtown.
Robert Lee Vanderpool
1942-2008
WESTWOOD – Robert Lee ‘Bob’ Vanderpool, 66, of Westwood, husband of Sharon Collins Vanderpool, died Wednesday afternoon at Boyd Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following an extended illness.
Bob was born December 11, 1942, at Ashland.
Funeral services were held Monday at noon at the Fairview Baptist Church by Rev. Michael Rice. Burial followed in the Rose Hill Burial Park.
Kelli DeWan Stephens
1962-2008
ASHLAND – Kelli DeWan Whitt Stephens, 46, of Ashland, wife of Darrell Stephens, died Thursday afternoon at Kings Daughters Medical Center following a short illness.
Kelli was born May 7, 1962 in Ashland.
Funeral services were held Monday, at 2 p.m. at the Preston Family Funeral Home, Ashland. Burial followed in the Sparks Cemetery.
Eunice Vincent

ASHLAND – Eunice Reeves Vincent, 95, of Ashland, went to be with her Lord on Sunday, December 28.
Eunice was born August 1, 1913 in Denton.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, at Caniff Funeral Home by Rev. Clell Elliott. Burial followed in Rose Hill Burial Park in Ashland.
