Annie Lee Moore

Wagoner

1928 – 2010

OLIVE HILL – Annie Lee Moore Wagoner, 81, of Olive Hill, went home to be with the Lord, March 4, at Kings Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky, surrounded by her loving family at her bedside.

Mrs. Wagoner was born, Sept. 9, 1928, in Elliott County, Ky, a daughter of the late Elijah and Arizona Blankenbeckler Moore.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-two years, Arlie Allen Wagoner, who passed away May 17, 2000, two sisters, Opal Barker and Vicie Cox.

Sister Annie Lee was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother. She was member of the Beartown Church of God for over thirty years.

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Elijah and Kathy Wagoner of Olive Hill, Roy and Judy Wagoner of Elliott County, Ky, two daughters and sons-in-law; Audrey and Ora Hatton of Ashland, Martha and Keith Webb of Mansfield, Ohio, eight grandchildren; Rick Hatton, Sue Russell, Jeremy Holbrook, Jessica Holbrook, Justin Wagoner, Jason Wagoner, LeAnne Webb and Amber Webb, nine great grandchildren; Christy Hatton, Jennifer Russell, Josh Russell, Austin Thomas, Aden Reed, Jamison Wagoner and Alivia Wagoner, Gage Holbrook and Zach Holbrook; four brothers and sisters-in-law; Walter Cecil and Juanita Moore of Morehead, Ky, Arie Ray and Mary Moore, Johnny and Betty Moore; Coy and Kay Moore all of Elliott County, Ky, two sisters and brothers-in-law; Martha and Cleo Randolph of Elliott County, Ky, Gladys and Raymond Justice of Ashland, Ky. She also leaves several other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.

Funeral services were held March 7, at Beartown Church of God on Stark Ridge in Elliott County, Ky, with Brother Charles Barker, Brother Johnny Moore and Brother Justin Wagoner officiating.

Burial followed in the Moore Family Cemetery on Stark Ridge in Elliott County, Ky.

Globe Funeral Home in Olive Hill was in Charge of arrangements.

Rick Hatton, Jason Wagoner, Randy Moore, Lenord Conkwright, Bruce Russell, Jermey Holbrook served as Pallbearers. Randall Webb and Oscar Lewis served as Honorary Pallbearers.



Charles Daniel “Danny” Stamper

1946 – 2010

GRAYSON – Charles Daniel “ Danny” Stamper, 63, of Grayson, departed this life March 2, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.

He was born November 22, 1946 in Ashland a son of Charles E. and Wilma Watson Stamper.

Dan was a Manager with the Rattlesnake Ridge Water District, and a member of the Gregoryville Christian Church where he served as Elder, Chairman of the Board and Sunday School Teacher.

He graduated with a Bachelor’s in Business administration from Morehead State University in 1968 and proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Dan was a loving son, husband, Father and a wonderful grandfather to his Grandson Cameron.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife Diana Midkiff Stamper; one son, Christopher Stamper and his wife Cindy of Grayson; mother-in-law Paula Midkiff of Rush, two brother-in-laws, Dennis Midkiff of Morehead and Danny Midkiff of Grayson

In addition to these he is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Services were conducted March 5, at the Gregoryville Christian Church by Ron Arnett and Jason McGlone.

Burial followed in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Grayson. Military Honors will be conducted by the United States Naval Reserve.

Serving as pallbearers weremembers of the Naval Reserve, Honorary pallbearers were the Board Members of Gregoryville Christian Church and close friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Gregoryville Christian Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 382 Grayson, KY 41164.

Martha Magene Tackett Salyers

1934 – 2010

OLIVE HILL – Martha Magene Tackett Salyers, 75, of Olive Hill, passed away, March 2, at the Carter Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Grayson, Ky.

Mrs. Salyers was born, July 9, 1934, in Carter County, Ky, a daughter of the late Douglas Tackett and Opal Oney Tackett McKenzie.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty four years, Ellis Quenton Salyers, three brothers, Laverne Tackett, Charles Tackett and Larry McKenzie.

Magene was a retired secretary for Porter’s Tires in Olive Hill, Ky. She also was member of the Globe Christian Church since 1952.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Merry Salyers of Olive Hill, Ky, one granddaughter; Miranda Salyers of Johnson City, Tennessee; one grandson, Randan Salyers of Olive Hill, Ky, two sisters and brother-in-law; Betty Chlebek of Dayton, Ohio, Brenda and Richard Davis of Tipp, City, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Nancy McKenzie of Russell, Ky, Jean Salyers of Davie, Florida; one brother-in-law and wife, Paul and Betty Salyers of Oakland, Ky. She also leaves nieces, nephews and cousins along with other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.

Funeral service were held March 6, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Ky, with Rev. David Rayburn, Rev. Eddie Porter and Rev. Shaun Whitt officiating.

Burial followed in the Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill, Ky.

Family and Friends served as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, the family request contributions be made in Magene’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association, 465 East High Street, Suite 100, Lexington, Kentucky 40507.

Earl DeHart,

1925 – 2010

OHIO – Earl DeHart, 84, of Alliance, Ohio, died March 2, at Alliance Community Hospital.

Mr. DeHart was born May 22, 1925 in Olive Hill, to Charles & Mary (Holbrook) DeHart. He married Leora (Lee) DeHart they were married for 31 years until the time of her death Nov. 7, 1999.

Mr. DeHart moved from Kentucky to Mansfield in the 1950’s and retired from White Westinghouse in 1987 with 33 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving during World War II. Earl moved to Alliance, Ohio in 2003 to be closer to his brother’s family in his golden years. Mr. DeHart attended Pennsylvania Street Free Will Baptist Church in Alliance, Ohio and was a member of Owl Home Lodge in Mansfield. He loved playing cards and watching his beloved Cleveland sporting teams.

Surviving are his twin sister, Pearl Sammons of Olive Hill, a sister and brother-in-law, Maggie & Lee Rodgers of Olive Hill, a sister-in-law, Emma DeHart of Alliance, Ohio three nieces, Kathy (DeHart) Eddy, Barb (DeHart) Brunner and Deloris DeHart all of Alliance, Ohio, a nephew, Steve DeHart of Louisville, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Leora, a brother, Ile DeHart, seven half-sisters and eight half-brothers.

The funeral service, was held March 6 at Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, conducted by Pastor Jay Hill. Burial was in Mansfield Cemetery.

Jane Hobart Felix McNeal

1932 – 2010

GEORGIA – Jane Hobart Felix McNeal, 77, of Dearing, Georgia, formerly of Morehead, passed away March 4, in Dearing Georgia, at the residence of her daughter, Teresa O’Neill.

Born December 31, 1932, in Windber, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd and Alma Hobart Felix.

Her husband, Leonard Joseph McNeal, preceded her in death on December 6, 1994.

Survivors include four daughters Ann Pereda of Dearing, Georgia, Teresa O’Neill of Dearing, Georgia, Amy Moore of Morehead, Ky, and Mary McNeal of Dickson, Tennessee, three sons: Robert McNeal of Hayes, Virginia, Timothy John McNeal of Port Orchard, Washington, and Edward McNeal of Morehead, Ky, two brothers, Robert Felix of Windber, Pennsylvania, and John Felix of Maple Glen, Pennsylvania, 13 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Mrs. McNeal was formerly a registered nurse at St. Claire Regional Medical Center Emergency and St. Claire Hospice. She was a member of Jesus Our Savior Catholic Church.

A funeral mass was held March 9, at Jesus Our Savior Catholic Church with the Rev. Paul Prabell officiating. Burial followed in Brown Cemetery.

Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals, was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Ed McNeal, Tim McNeal, Rob McNeal, Keith Moore, Paul Stokes, and Bill Mains.

Alene Matthews Ison

1953 – 2010

MOREHEAD – Alene Matthews Ison, 56, of Trent Ridge, Morehead, passed away March 5, at her residence.

She was born June 24, 1953, in Morgan County, Ky, daughter of the Carl Vernon and Sarah Hazel Johnson Matthews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by six sisters, Jean Moore, Linda McVey, Lois Jenkins, Kathy Richardson, Sharlene Roe, and Opal Hunter.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years, James Allen Ison, whom she married June 27, 1970; two daughters, Susie Berniece (Jim) Wicker and Jennifer Lynn (Jeff) Porter, of Morehead, Ky, and three grandchildren, Heather Renee Blair, Emily Katherine Wicker, and James Allen Wicker.

Also surviving are three brothers, Carl Vernon Matthews, Jr., of Grayson, Ky, Earl David Matthews of Flatwoods, Ky, and Michael Keith Matthews of Richmond, Ky, two sisters, Shirley Ann Ison of Naples, Florida, and Billie Jo Jent of Morehead, Kent, and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Ison was a former employee of Norge Village and a member of Lytten Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ. She loved her garden, spending time with her grandchildren, and her church family.

Funeral services were conducted March 7, at the Lytten Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ with Bishop Denzil Fannin officiating. Burial followed at the Ison Cemetery on Trent Ridge.

Pallbearers were Jim Wicker, Josh Ferguson, Jeff Porter, Archie Bowling, James Bowling, Josh Ison, and David Matthews.

Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals in Morehead.



Ruth May Rice

1935 – 2010

GRAYSON – Ruth May Rice, 74 of Grayson, formerly of Mansfield, Ohio, went to be with her Lord on March 2, at her residence. She was born August 11, 1935 in Carter County, Ky, a daughter of the late James Hubert and Carrie Day Pennington.

She was a member of the Willard Missionary Baptist Church and was a teachers’ assistant at Mansfield City School.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother in-law Vernon and Hazel Rice and two sisters Marjorie Ward and Virginia Pennington.

She is survived by her husband of 54 years Gaylord Rice; two sons Gaylord Jr. and wife Dawn Rice of Shelby, Ohio, and Hubert Rice of Mansfield, Ohio, three daughters Brenda and husband Doug Shields of Westerville, Ohio, Glenda and husband Michael Case of Westerville, Ohio. and Rebecca and husband Robert Burriss of Shiloh, Ohio, one sister Mattie Travis of Sandusky, Ohio,one brother James Pennington of Fla. Eight grandchildren, Gabriel, Tyler, Brianna, Caleb, Emily, Amanda, Parker and Arie; one sister-in-law Hilda Hall and one brother in-law Ronald Rice, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted March 6, at the Malone Funeral Home by Ronnie Graves and R.C. Thornbury.

Burial was in the Damron Cemetery.

Cory Allen Clark

GREENUP – Cory Allen Clark, 21, of Greenup, ky, died suddenly at Ashland, March 4. Cory was born Nov. 16, 1988, at Ashland Ky.

Funeral Services were held March. 8, at Preston Family Funeral Home.



Virginia Roberta “Sis” Caudill

1938 – 2010

OHIO – Virginia Roberta “Sis” Caudill, 71, went to be with her Lord and Savior, March 6 at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby, Ohio where her and her family moved to on Feb. 18, 2010.

She was born July 9, 1938 in Hitchins Ky. Virginia was affectionately known as “Sis” to all her friends and loved ones. “Sis” lived in Mansfield most of her life with her Father and Mother.

She was employed at Mansfield General Hospital for nine years and at Winchester Nursing Home for 11 years where she was injured and became disabled.

She leaves behind three brothers, Dewey Lee (Ruth) Caudill of Mansfield, John Arlon (Peggy) Caudill of Hitchins, Ky. Billy Joe (Wanda) Caudill of Mansfield. She has a host of nieces, nephews, friends and a special Aunt, Jewel Boggs of Friends Branch Grayson, Ky.

Awaiting her arrival in Heaven is her Father and Mother, John and Mary Caudill, and two brothers, Bobby Dale and Ulysses Ray.

William Whitley Littleton

1961 – 2010

GRAYSON – William Whitley Littleton, 48, of Grayson, passed away March 6, at Kings Daughters Medical Center. He was born July 20,1961 in Boyd County, a son of Carolyn Rogers Littleton of Grayson and the late Sam Littleton.

He was a Carpenter. His survivors include: one son, William Tyler Littleton of Grayson; one sister, Brenda Ruth of Georgetown, Ky, one brother, Samuel Matthew Littleton of Grayson and his companion, Brenda Mullins of Grayson.

Funeral services were March 9, at Malone Funeral Home in Grayson. Private committal services will follow at a later date at Everman Cemetery.



Homer Franklin Lowe

1924 – 2010

Homer Franklin Lowe, age 85, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, March 3, 2010, at Mifflin Care Center in Mansfield Ohio.

He was born March 25, 1924, in Carter County, Kentucky a son of the late John and Lucy Blevins Lowe.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his children’s mother; Opal Kelly Lowe; three brothers, Carl Lowe, Glen Lowe and Clayton Lowe.

Homer served his country in the United States Army. He was a Past Master of the Hepburn Masonic Lodge #576 in Sandy Hook, Kentucky in 1978. He also was a member of the Rattlesnake Ridge Genealogy Group.

Homer is survived by his two daughters and son in-law; Judith and David Darling of Mansfield, Ohio; Sherry Kim Lowe of Brentwood, Tennessee; two grandchildren; Edward Myers and Amanda Darling Mullins; four great-grandchildren; Hannah Myers, Keith Myers, J.J. Mullins and Maycee Mullins; two sisters; Wilma Taylor of Olive Hill, Kentucky and Doris Webb of Toledo, Ohio. He leaves behind several other family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.

Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky with Elder J.D. Riggs officiating. Burial will follow in the Lowe Family Cemetery on Rattlesnake Ridge in Olive Hill, Kentucky at a later date.

Friends may call from 1:00 p.m Saturday, until the service hour at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky.

A Military service will be conducted by the Olive Hill American Legion Post #138 at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky.
