Barbara Ann Burchett Fannin Fultz
1940-2011
OLIVE HILL - Mrs. Barbara Ann Burchett Fannin Fultz, age 70, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Monday, January 24, 2011, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead, Kentucky.
Mrs. Fultz was born June 16, 1940, in Carter County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Ransom and Nina Webb Burchett. Barb was a member of the Flat Fork Church of God and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of 25 years, Harold Fannin; one brother, Verlin Burchett; and two sisters, Gloria Day and Janet Menix.
Barb is survived by her husband of twelve years, Roger Fultz; three sons, Gary Fannin of Atlanta, Georgia, Darrell Fannin and Jeffery Fannin, both of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one daughter, Debbie Surface of Alexandria, Indiana; five grandchildren, Scott, Daniel, Amanda, Michael Paul, and one very special grandson she thought of as her own, Casey. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother Ronald Logan and Brother Delmar Logan, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the Bradley Cemetery in Olive Hill, Kentucky. Friends may call after 6 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2011, and until the service hour on Thursday at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky. Thomas Arthur (Tom) James
1933-2011
OLIVE HILL - Mr. Thomas Arthur "Tom" James, age 77, of Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday afternoon, January 26, 2011, at his residence.
He was born March 21, 1933, in Carter County, Kentucky, a son of the late Henry and Frances Roe James.
Brother Tom was a pastor for 44 years at the Grahn Church of Jesus Christ and the Fraley Chapel Church of Jesus Christ where he still pastored. He also preached at Bald Point Church of Jesus Christ and Shady Grove Church. Tom served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War conflict and was retired from Acme Stone where he worked as a crusher operator. Brother Tom loved spending time with his church families and visiting at the funeral home with his friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of forty-nine years, Olive Kiser James and a son, Bruce Allen James. Brother Tom is survived by one brother, Clifford "Kip" James of Grahn, Kentucky; and four sisters, Carolyn Meade of Olive Hill, Kentucky, Agnes McMillen of Grayson, Kentucky, Eythel Boggs and Evelyn Riffe, both of Elyria, Ohio. He also leaves many other family members, church family, and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 2, 2011, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Kentucky, with Brother William Waddell, Brother John Jordan, and Brother John Bradley officiating. Burial will follow in the Kiser Cemetery in Grahn, Kentucky, with full military rites conducted by the Olive Hill American Legion Post No. 138. Pallbearers were family and friends. GRAYSON - Roger Jessie, 91, of Grayson, KY, went to be with his Lord on Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at his residence.
He was born September 19, 1919, in Olive Hill, KY, a son of the late Robert and Stella Walker Jessie. He was a retired laborer and a member of the Gregoryville Christian Church.
He was preceded by his wife, Lula Mosier Jessie; a son, Charlie Gilbert; three brothers, Arvil Jessie, Ralph Jessie and Jack Jessie; four sisters, Atha Jessie Withrow, Irene Jessie Whitt, Juanita Jessie Riley and Bobbie Jessie Suttles.
His survivors include: two sons, Bill “Kenny” Jessie of Richmond, KY and Robert Jessie of Grayson,KY; one daughter, Lorraine Arms of Grayson, KY; one sister, Joann Lind of Upper Sandusky,OH; one brother, Ray Jessie of Grayson,KY; 13 grandchildren, 24 greatgrandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted 1:00 p.m., Friday, January 28th, 2011 at Malone Funeral Home by Lewis Davis and Randy Binion, ministers. Burial will be in the East CarterCounty MemoryGardens. Cobern Lee Kegley

OLIVE HILL – Cobern Lee Kegley, age 70, of Beartown Ridge, Olive Hill, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, January 23, 2011, at his residence.
Born July 17, 1940, at Sideway, Kentucky, in Elliott County, he was the son of the late Thomas and Lucy McDaniel Kegley.
Cobern is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sarah Jane Middleton Kegley, whom he married June 14, 1958; three sons, Cobern Lee Kegley, Jr., of Saline, Michigan, Ricky Allen Kegley of Olive Hill, Kentucky, and Herman Conn of Olive Hill, Kentucky; one daughter, Wanda Jean Bossio of Olive Hill, Kentucky; and four grandchildren, Carl Bossio, Brandon Kegley, Sarah Jones, and Daniel Kegley. Also surviving are two sisters, Louvon Jennings of Morehead, Kentucky, and Louise Holbrook of Olive Hill, Kentucky.
Cobern was a retired truck driver and a member of the Church of God.
Funeral services were conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, January 27, 2011, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals Memorial Chapel with Rev. Austin Carter officiating. Burial was in the Mabry-Kegley Cemetery on Beartown Ridge. Pallbearers were Brandon Kegley, Carl Bossio, Mike Jones, Brian Dillon, Randy Holbrook, Tanner Psimer, Kevin Baker and Versel Dillon. OLIVE HILL - Mrs. Weaver Bloomfield McClurg, age 95, of Vanceburg, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2011, at the Golden Living Center in Vanceburg, Kentucky.
She was born December 15, 1915, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late John Al and Sarah Ellen Butler Bloomfield. Weaver was of the Christian faith and was a homemaker.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-eight years, John Marion McClurg; one granddaughter, Connie Sue McClurg; three brothers, George Bloomfield, Egar Bloomfield, and Tommy Bloomfield; and one sister, Flossie Bloomfield.
Weaver is survived by three sons, Ronald McClurg, William McClurg, Jr., and David McClurg, all of Vanceburg, Kentucky; two daughters, Helen Livesay of Garrison, Kentucky, and Phoebe Scaff and husband Mike of South Shore, Kentucky; 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; and four sisters, Lily Cooley and husband Estil of Garrison, Kentucky, Bertha Ruark Reynolds of Florida, Lona Burton of Bucyrus, Ohio, and Dorothy Pierce of Garrison, Kentucky. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will truly miss her.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 29, 2011, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Camp Dix, Kentucky, with Brother Ronald Hall officiating. Burial followed in the Cedar Grove Cemetery in Vanceburg, Kentucky. Pallbearers were John David Mallory, Michael Ray McClurg, Ray McClurg, Scotty Scaff, Aaron Scaff, Jayson Scaff, and Jamie McClurg. Bourke McDavid
1941-2011
GRAYSON - Bourke McDavid, 70, of Grayson, KY, passed away Saturday evening January 29, 2011 at his residence.
He was born January 13, 1941 in Hitchins, KY, a son of the late Collis McDavid and Lyndell Abrams McDavid. Mr. McDavid was a Vietnam Army Veteran, and retired employee of Smithfield Foods in Grayson. He was also of the Baptist Faith.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, James McDavid, and Daniel McDavid; and two sisters, Izora Belle, and Shirley Mae.
He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda Jones McDavid; and four sons, Wes McDavid and his wife Norma of Grayson, KY, Matthew McDavid of Grayson, KY, Doug McDavid and his Kandy of Crestview, FL, John McDavid and his wife Sarah of Waverly, OH; one grandson, William McDavid of Grayson, KY.
