Charlotte Whitt Tackett
1922 – 2010
OLIVE HILL – Charlotte Whitt Tackett, 87, of Olive Hill, went home to be with the Lord, Feb. 9, at the Carter Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Grayson, Ky.
She was born March 21, 1922, in Carter County, Ky, a daughter of the late Jacob and Emma Nelson Whitt.
Charlotte was a homemaker, a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She has been a Christian since 1950 and was a member of the Grahn Church of Jesus Christ.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Clifford Tackett.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Clifford Earl and Jeannetta Tackett of Mansfield, Ohio, Doug and Linda Tackett of Olive Hill, six daughters and sons-in-law, Mary M. Smith, Brenda and Louie Perry of Mansfield, Ohio, Geneva and Richard Rowlance of Oak Island, North Carolina, Emmagene and Larry Burke of Fort Myers, Florida, Ella Louise Tackett of Crown City, Ohio, Charlene Bryant of Grahn, Ky, twenty-five grandchildren and several great-grandchildren, one sister, Mary Stevens of Shelby, Ohio. She also leaves several nieces, nephews, other extended family members, church family, neighbors and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.
Funeral services were held Feb. 13, at Globe Funeral Chapel Olive Hill, with Brother Monroe Craig, Brother Orlando Tackett and Brother Bobby Day officiating. Burial followed in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Grahn, Ky.
Family and friend served as pallbearers.
Gwendolyn "Gwen" Keaton Baca
1955 – 2010
SHELBY, OHIO – Gwendolyn "Gwen" Keaton Baca, 54, of Shelby, Ohio, passed away Feb. 10, at the residence of her caregivers in Shelby, Ohio.
She was born Oct. 7, 1955, in Crawford County, Ohio, a daughter of Odellene Stamper Keaton of Mansfield, Ohio and the late Willie Lee Keaton.
Gwen was owner and operator of the Ohio Message Center in Mansfield, Ohio and was of the Christian faith.
She is survived by her husband of seven years, Wayne Baca, one sister, Brenda Keaton of Mansfield, Ohio.
Funeral service were held Feb. 13, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, Ky, with Brother Gary Sparks officiating.
Burial followed in the Thompson Cemetery on Dry Branch Road in Olive Hill, Ky.
Ira Lee Vice
1920 – 2010
MT.STERLING – Ira Lee Vice, 89, of Mt. Sterling, Ky, passed away Feb. 11, at the St. Joseph Hospital in Mt. Sterling, Ky.
Born March 8, 1920, in Montgomery County, Ky, he was the son of the late Albert and Henrietta Hudson Vice. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ada Pearl Carpenter Vice.
Ira Lee is survived by one son, Arnold Vice and wife Maxine of Winchester, Ky, two daughters, Wilma McCarty and husband Earl of Mt. Sterling, Ky, and Linda White of Mt. Sterling, Ky, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.
Also surviving are two brothers, Tom Vice of Mt. Sterling, Ky, and Charles Vice of Lexington, Ky, and four sisters, Alma Vice and Edna Henry, both of Mt. Sterling, Ky, Bertie Razor of Fleming County, Ky, and Virginia Brooks of Lexington, Ky.
Ira Lee was a retired farmer and member of Ephesus Baptist Church in Winchester, Ky.
Funeral services were conducted Feb. 12, at Reid Village Baptist Church with the Rev. Todd Radar, Rev. Drew Martin, and Rev. Gary Conner officiating. Burial was Feb. 13, in the Machpelah Cemetery.

Parents Auderine Swanigan and Albert Bond, Stepmother Helen Bond, Sister Louise Blevins, Brothers Carl Edward and Raymond Lee Bond, Great grandchildren Amy and Kayden.

GRAYSON – Sarah Sargent Suttles, 84, of Grayson, passed away Feb. 10, in Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
She was born Feb. 27, 1925 at Carter County, a daughter of the late John and Bertha Crank Hall. She was a homemaker.
Preceding her in death was three sons, Paul David Sargent, James Michael Sargent and Steven Scott Sargent and four grandchildren, Christopher Shannon Greer, Steven Terry Roseberry, Anthony Shaun Sargent and Madison Sargent. Her survivors include: Her husband, Clifford Suttles of Grayson, four sons, John Paul Bair of Grayson, Arnie Lee Sargent of Chicago, IL, Anthony Sargent of Grayson and Timothy Sargent of Willard, Ky.
Four Daughters, Linda Sargent of Ashland, Brenda Roseberry of Willard, Debra Greer of Columbus, Ohio, and Tina Ludwig of Grayson, 46 Grandchildren and 72 Great-grandchildren.

Myrtle Lenora McDaniel Thomas

OLIVE HILL – Myrtle Lenora McDaniel Thomas, 78, of Olive Hill, passed away Feb. 13, at her residence.
Mrs. Thomas was born June 4, 1931, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Drew and Anna Mae Burchett McDaniel.
Myrtle was of the Baptist Faith. She enjoyed gardening and quilting in her spare time.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Dewhitt Thomas; one daughter, Edna Mae Thomas; four brothers, Walter McDaniel, Eddie McDaniel, William McDaniel and Ben McDaniel; one sister, Mary “Dolly” Branham; one grandson, Jimmy Hayden Doyle.
She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ivan and Crystal Thomas of Olive Hill, Lovangel Dale and Page Thomas of Maysville, four daughters, Vickie Thomas Workman of Maysville, Lenora D. Thomas and Elizabeth Ilene Thomas both of Olive Hill, Maxine Eden of Tennessee; eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren, two brothers, Jesse McDaniel of Tollesboro, Ky, James McDaniel of Olive Hill, four sisters, Goldie Coleman, Retha Gay and Martha McGlone all of Olive Hill, Bessie Leg of Mansfield, Ohio.
She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.
Funeral service will be held 2:p.m. Wed. Feb. 17, at the Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill, Ky, with Brother Dale Richmond officiating.
Burial will follow in the Erwin Cemetery of Webb Ridge in Olive Hill, Ky.

Brian Keith Blankenship

OLIVE HILL – Brian Keith Blankenship 44, of Olive Hill, passed away, Feb. 11, at Bego Lane in Olive Hill, Ky, as the results of an automobile accident.
He was born May 2, 1965, in Porter County, Indiana, a son of Rose Branom Blankenship of Visalia, California, and the late Ernest Vernon Blankenship and stepmother, Martha Blankenship.
Brian was a construction worker and attended the Mills Branch Apostolic Church in Olive Hill, Ky.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of six years, Treasa Goodan Blankenship, paternal grandmother, Laura Rice Bego of Olive Hill, Ky, five brothers and sisters-in-law, Terry Wayne and Becky Blankenship of Amanda, Ohio, Vince and Cherry Blankenship, Kevin Blankenship all of Visalia, California, Michael and Christy Blankenship of Livingston, Texas, Jerry Rivers of Clarksburg, Maryland, three sisters and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Timmy Goodan of Olive Hill, Ky, Margaret Blankenship of Visalia, California, Stephanie Clements of Ace, Texas. He also leaves several nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Funeral services were held Feb.16, at Globe Funeral Chapel Olive Hill, Ky, with Brother Lonnie Conn and Brother Joe Ruley officiating. Burial followed in the Rice Cemetery on Mocabee Creek Road in Olive Hill, Ky.
Terry Blankenship, Vince Blankenship, Michael Blankenship, Kenny Blankenship, Bo Martin and Bobby Martin served as pallbearers. Jeffrey Sloan, Kevin Blankenship, Timmy Goodan, Allen Goodan, Eddie Goodan, Charlie Salyers and Donny Owens served as honorary pallbearers.
Donald Lee Miller
1944 – 2010
MOREHEAD – Donald Lee Miller, 65, of Kegley Ridge, Morehead, Ky, passed away Feb. 14, at his residence.
Born March 3, 1944, in Louisville, Ky, he is the son of Ima Jean Yates Miller of Evansville, Indiana, and the late Ottis Miller. A son, Norman Miller, also preceded him in death.
In addition to his mother, Don is survived by his wife, Rita Murphy Miller; three sons, Brian Miller of El Paso, Texas, J. R. Mcnutt of Columbia, South Carolina; and Nacogdoches Miller of Morehead, Ky, one daughter, Tina Williams of Evansville, Indiana, one sister, Jeanie White of Evansville, Indiana, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Don was a farmer and horse trainer.
Visitation was Feb. 16, at Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals. Private burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are under the direction of Northcutt & Son Home for Funerals.
Patsy Olson
1945 – 2010
GRAYSON – Patsy Olson, 64 of Grayson died Feb.12 at Kings Daughter Medical Center in Ashland. She was born July 6, 1945 in Winchester, Ky a daughter of the late Kenneth A. and Mary Stanfield Hatton.
She was a manager in retail sales at Sears in Huntington, WV. . A member of the Stinson Church of Christ, and a supporter of American Cancer Society “Relay for Life” program.
She is survived by her husband, Edward “Ed” Olson, of Grayson, two sons; Tom (Tammy) Olson of South Williamson, Ky. Brian (Cindy) Olson of Grayson. two daughters; Cheryl (Mark) Halterman and Michelle (Brian) Swanagan both of Grayson. A brother, Daniel Hatton of Bardstown, Ky. and a sister, Martha Humphrey of Rush. Five grandchildren, Mark Alan, Tia, Britney, Brian Edward, and Evan.
Funeral services were Feb. 16 at the Sparks Funeral Home, Henry (Leo) Glancy and Al Serhal , ministers.
Burial followed at the Cribbs Hill Cemetery near Grayson.
Members of the Stinson Church of Christ was pallbearers.
