In last week's Tennis Clinics held at East Carter Middle School courts, 16 different kids attended the beginners session and 7 different people attended the advanced session.
The beginners learned how to hit forehand and backhand volleys, forehand and backhand groundstrokes, and serves. They also played different games each day to get warmed up and to end the day with some fun as well. They received prizes on Thursday, which ranged from t-shirts to racquets and racquet bags.
The advanced tennis clinic players got to participate in drills and games that the East Carter Varsity team works on during the season which included advance techniques for hitting forehands, backhands, volleys, and serves. They also got tot play advanced games such as “Mini Tennis”, “Around the World” and three different versions of “King of the Hill”.
The East Carter Tennis Team has several more potential players. Some of the kindergarteners that came could be a force to recon with in 2019 when they are in high school!
