Grayson’s Minor League Red Sox recently ended their regular season with an 11-6 record.
“We had a very fundamentally sound baseball team,” Manager James Collier said. “They are probably the youngest team in the league.”
Red Sox players include Micah Adams, Derrick Bradley, Cole Parsons, Zach McGuffin, Justin Gilbert, Roger Allen, Joseph Duncan, Caleb Claxon, Noah Caudill, Gabe Limings, Casey McDavid, Trey Collier, and Josh Damron. The team was coached by Manager Jamie Swanagan and assistant coaches James Collier and Jeff Damron. The team was sponsored by Rent-2-Own.
Collier said the best season memory was beating the Mets for the first time on the major league field.
“The Mets were such a strong team top to bottom and every game we went to battle we came up just short,” Collier said. “That night both teams played amazing defense and hit the ball great, at the end the Red Sox took the win 3-2!”
The entire Sox team will be returning next season.
“They are a great group of kids,” Collier said. “The team is very fun to work with and it was a real pleasure to coach them. I am really looking forward to working with them again next year.”
