Nov. 14, 2012 — The 2012 West Carter golf teams recently wrapped up their 2012 fall seasons and once again moved up the area polls.
Led by Alana Conley and Kainey Garvin for the girls, along with Kyle Brown and Tanner Tackett for the boys, the Comets were able to even make some noise at the regional meet, with Brown making the cut for state.
Conley, Garvin, Brown and Tackett collectively devoted more than seven years each to seeing the success of West Carter golf.
Staton named to All-Area team
This season’s Player of the Year assumed a starring role in ending the seasons of both coaches who shared top honors on The Independent’s 2013 All-Area Baseball Team.
Three Carter County standouts named to All-Area team
