Bates' Crazy Eight

Jan. 30, 2013 — There is very little change to this week’s rankings after several teams maintained their positions in the past week.

Boys:

1. Russell (19-6)

2. Fleming County (17-4)

3. Morgan County (15-5)

4. Rowan County (12-9)

5. Boyd County (14-9)

6. Ashland (15-8)

7. Elliott County (11-10)

8. Lewis County (10-9)

No changes this week to the Boys Top Ten. Russell competed in the All “A” State tournament last week, losing out of region to eventual champion, Bishop Brossart. Ashland won three straight since losing to rival Boyd County last week. One matchup to watch this week will be Morgan County and East Carter on Tuesday night. The Cougars defeated the Raiders by three a little more than two weeks ago.

Girls:

1. East Carter (18-5)

2. Boyd County (16-6)

3. Ashland (16-5)

4. Lewis County (11-9)

5. Rowan County (11-10)

6. Bath County (12-7)

7. Fleming County (11-9)

8. Greenup County (11-12)

There is not much change atop the girl’s rankings either. Fleming County has made an appearance in the Crazy 8s after winning five of their last six games. East Carter continues to be the top team in the region at 18-5 heading into February.
