Mrs. Madge Stone Lewis, age 88, of Olive Hill, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012, at her residence.
She was born May 1, 1924, in Elliott County, a daughter of the late Emory and Myrtle Mae Blankenbeckler Stone.
Madge was a member of the Shady Grove Church of God and was a homemaker. She enjoyed going to church and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leslie Lewis; one son, Phillip Ray Lewis; one daughter, Bonnie Faye Lewis; three brothers, George Stone, Linzy Stone, and Lowell Stone; and three sisters, Faye Brown, Bertha Skaggs, and Zelma Stone.
Madge is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law, Lorene Stone of Olive Hill, Carolyn and Jerry Barker of Grahn, and Kathy and Johnny Conn, and Monnie and Randy Seagraves, all of Olive Hill; seven grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Opal Skaggs, Vesta and J. R. Flanery, and Gretta and Jackie Flanery, all of Olive Hill. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Chris Glover and Brother Austin Carter officiating. Burial will follow in the Stone Cemetery in Elliott County.
Friends may visit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, May 7, 2012, and until the service hour at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill.
Kevin Flanery, Tim Flanery, Randy Flanery, Billy Adkins, Wesley Conn, and Charlie Barker will serve as pallbearers.
