William E. (Bill) Lawhun, 79, of Mansfield, died Saturday, April 14, 2012 at Crystal Care Center in Mansfield. Born November 9, 1932 in Grahn, Kentucky he was the son of Melvin Lawhorn, Sr. and Nettie (Lambert) Lawhorn. He retired from Peabody-Barnes, Inc. and was a member of Mansfield Grace Temple. He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, sitting on his swing and passing the time and spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Bernita (Ronnie) Lowe, Karen Mosier, Ellen (Keith) Hicks all of Olive Hill, Delwood Abrams and Earnestine Abrams both of Mansfield; 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and very dear relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Jacqueline (Lambert) Lawhun; a daughter, Debbie Ison; a grandson, Lonnie Ison; three brothers, Lovell, Hobert and Melvin Jr. Lawhorn; and three sisters, Glenamae Castor, Nig Sergent and Sara Walker.
Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road, Ontario. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the funeral home conducted by Pastor William Fisher. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
