Helen Biggs

Feb. 06, 2012 — Mrs. Helen Louise Walker Biggs, 82, of Olive Hill, passed away Wednesday morning, February 1, 2012, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

She was born February 18, 1929, in Carter County, a daughter of the late Bill Walker and the late Ada Jessie.

Helen and her husband were the former owners of Biggs’ Grocery for 40 years. She was a member of the Flat Fork Church of God. Helen loved canning, quilting, making cream candy and spending time with her family and friends, especially her great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Champ D. Biggs; one brother, William Hall and three sisters, Hazel Biggs, Lenora Fielding and Dorothy Adkins.

Helen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Deanna and Mick Greenhill of Olive Hill; two grandchildren, Melissa Greenhill Sparks and husband, Tony and Mike Greenhill and wife, Jeanne, all of Olive Hill and seven great grandchildren, Hannah, Hallie, Jozi, Luke, Graci, Haven and Hayla. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 4, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Gary Sparks and Brother Delmar Logan, Jr. officiating. Burial followed in the Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill.

Friends visited from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, February 2, on Friday, February 3 and until the service hour on Saturday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Hwy 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky.

Jeff Kiser, Steve Parker, Alex Hall, Heith Boggs, Ronald Logan and Greg Kiser will serve as pallbearers.
