Dennis Walter Kiser

1926-2012

08/02/2012 — Mr. Dennis Walter Kiser, 86, of Olive Hill, passed away Tuesday morning, July 31, 2012, in Oakmont Manor in Flatwoods.

He was born March 14, 1926, in Carter County, a son of the late Culie and Catherine Conley Kiser.

Dennis had been a member of the Oakland Christian Holiness Church for ten years and was retired from Mansfield Tire and Rubber and General Motors. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1941 to 1945. Dennis enjoyed fishing, golfing, hunting, going to Walkers and McDonalds, going to church and spending time with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Norman Kiser, Terry Lee Kiser, Ray Kiser, Truman Kiser and George Kiser and five sisters, Jean Raybourn, Oney Reynolds, Brenda Kay Kiser, Nixola Roe and Sylvia Maggard.

Dennis is survived by three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jim Kiser of Alliance, Ohio, Phillip and Barb Kiser of Olive Hill and Tony and Lula Belle Kiser of Alliance, Ohio; one sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Ernie Wells of Worthington; one sister-in-law, Mary Kiser of Alliance, Ohio and several nieces and nephews.  He also leaves his old dog, Minnie, who he loved and many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, August 3, at Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill, with Brother Clyde Holbrook and Brother Raymond Steagall officiating. Burial followed in the Kiser Cemetery on Bens Run in Olive Hill, with full military rites conducted by the Olive Hill American Legion Post No. 138.

Friends visited from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, August 2 and until the service hour at 2 p.m. on Friday at Globe Funeral Chapel, 17277 West US Highway 60, Olive Hill, Kentucky 41164.

Glen Maggard, Gary Kiser, Larry Kiser, Keith Kiser, Vince Kiser, Roy Roe and Mitch Roe will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Burchett, Mick Roe, Willie Dee Patton, Paul James Cooper and Gene Sparks.
