02/12/13 — Mr. Jackie Lewis Cox, 61, of Willard, passed away Friday afternoon, Feb. 8, 2013, at his residence after a brief and courageous battle with cancer.
He was born April 14, 1951, in Webbville, a son of the late Dan and Madge Roberts Cox.
Jackie was of the Baptist faith and was a former employee of Bartlett Tree Company. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. Jackie enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Paul Ray Cox and James Edward Cox, and one sister, Betty Vanhorn.
Jackie is survived by his wife of 35 years, Denise Campbell Cox; one son, Jackie Nicholas Cox of Willard; two grandchildren, Stewie Cox and Melanie Cox; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Joy and Bob Williams of Cannonsburg, Kaye and David McDavid of Grayson, Charlotte Thompson of Ashland, Dinah and Rick Bustetter of Grayson, and Ira Vanhorn of Louisa; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He will be sadly missed by everyone.
A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 12, 2013, at the Riffe Cemetery in Carter County with Brother David Boggs officiating. Full military honors will be conducted by the Olive Hill American Legion Post No. 138.
Globe Funeral Chapel in Olive Hill is in charge of all arrangements for Mr. Jackie Lewis Cox.
