Virgal Davis

Feb. 06, 2012 — Mr. Virgal Davis, 71, of Morehead, passed away Wednesday morning, February 1, 2012, in St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

He was born March 28, 1940, in Magoffin County, a son of the late Harrison and Mable Ingmar Davis.

Virgal attended the Mills Branch Apostolic Church and was a bus driver for the Morgan County Senior Citizens. He enjoyed fishing and spending time talking and joking with his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Vondal Lee Bailey Davis; one infant child; five brothers, Andrew Davis, James Davis, Monroe Davis, Charles Davis and Cecil Davis; three sisters, Nancy Lewis, Mary Burgett, and Freda Davis and one half sister, Opal Mae Davis.

Virgal is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Kim Davis and Micheal and Tina Davis, all of Morehead and Israel Moore of Salyersville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Wanda Coffee of Olive Hill, Margilene and Eugene Grigsby of Spencerville, Ohio and Brenda and David Bolin of Morehead; 16 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and two sisters, Geraldine Bailey and Wonnie Peters, both of West Liberty. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 3, at the Mills Branch Apostolic Church in Olive Hill, with Pastor Larry Joe Ruley officiating. Burial will follow in the Garvin Ridge Cemetery in Olive Hill.

Friends visited from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, February 2 and until the service hour on Friday at the Mills Branch Apostolic Church in Olive Hill.

Joe Davis, Michael Davis, Nathan Davis, Matt Grigsby, Shamist Grigsby, Eugene Grigsby and Harrison Bailey served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Toro Bayes and David Bolin.

Oney-Henderson Funeral Home in Olive Hill, is in charge of all arrangements.
